We’re inviting PhD students and faculty in economics or finance to take part in a paid research survey on how economists evaluate the robustness of published empirical findings. You’ll be shown four papers, one at a time, published in the American Economic Review. For each paper, you’ll read a short description of its key finding, answer three quick comprehension questions, then evaluate six robustness checks of that finding. To evaluate a robustness check, you will simply rate how valid and relevant each one seems to you (on a 0-10 scale). Finally, you will predict how other participants also rate the same robustness check.
Your maximum compensation will be $62: You’ll earn a $10 show-up fee for completing the survey, up to $12 more for correct comprehension answers, and up to $40 based on how closely your predictions match other participants’ actual ratings. Compensation will be paid as an Amazon gift card.

Thank you.
